“I believe that the human body is capable of incredible things. I also believe that Reformer Pilates is the key to accessing those incredible things.” – Em Miiller

About Em

My name is Em, as in Emily, and I’m your certified Reformer Pilates Instructor! Growing up in Canmore, Alberta, my roots are deeply integrated between the Rocky Mountains and the Alberta Prairies. As a young Rodeo Cowgirl, I participated and competed from a young age in Pony Club gymkhanas, 4H, and eventually, college Rodeo, which took me on the road throughout Alberta and British Columbia with my horses. I am proud of what I learned from some of the best Cowboys and Cowgirls in the country, but my calling was towards a different kind of relationship with myself and my horses: something calm, strong and quietly powerful. Now, I love the disciplines of Reining and Natural Horsemanship. Today, I am proud to be spoiling my 25-year-old Arabian gelding, Tobi, with a gentle semi-retirement, as he has given me his entire life of loyalty, fun, travel, and athleticism. He’s also been an incredible babysitter for my 6-year-old Arabian, Aksel; my little tornado, who humbles me most days… And here is where Reformer Pilates fits in:

I didn’t know that I needed Reformer Pilates in my life, but I knew I needed something. Something calm, strong and quietly powerful. I am an active adult ballet dancer, and I have been a gymnast, a runner, and many years ago, a body-builder. Ballet challenges my mind-body connection, and it allows me to focus on a deep and important balance of strength and flexibility. It also trains my rhythm; I love the musicality of classic ballet. However, the strength that I had and maintained as an active equestrian and ballet dancer just wasn’t enough. I needed something that would allow me to really build strength, while at the same time avoiding injury, actively rehabilitating old injuries (that one ankle that is just never quite right…), and keep me toned, flexible, and happy. I hadn’t found a fitness regime that I really enjoyed outside of the sports of horseback riding and ballet, until I found Reformer Pilates.

I’m thrilled that you’re here and interested in making a real change on how your body grows and maintains strength, balance and longevity. What services do you offer?

I offer mat and Reformer Pilates training at my home studio in Crossfield, Alberta. Some of my training specialties include: working with equestrians, Rodeo cowboys and cowgirls (thats right, the bull riders, the bronc riders, the barrel-racers, and everyone in between!), and athletes including runners, hockey players, football players, and soccer players. As a previous Rodeo cowgirl myself, and ballet dancer, I understand the importance of injury prevention, recovery, strength, and balance.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes! We provide online consultations for clients who prefer remote services or live outside our local area. All you need is a good internet connection and a few photos or videos of your space.

How much do your services cost?

Pricing depends on the scope of your training requirements. The initial in-person consultation is $145 and involves a 30 minute thorough heath consultation followed by a 40 minute Reformer session. I offer packages of 4 classes per month ($70/session: $280/month), 8 classes per month ($65/session: $520/month), and 12 classes/month ($55/session: $660/month). I also offer custom quotes based on your needs.

How long does it take for me to see results from Reformer Pilates?

The general rule of Pilates is the 10-20-30 rule: In 10 classes, you’ll feel different. in 20 classes, you’ll see a difference. in 30 classes, you are certainly a different composition: a stronger, more balanced, toned body.

Do you offer other wellness services??

Yes! I am an Iridologist and Master Herbalist, offering Clinical Herbalism consultations to address your health and wellness needs and goals. The foundation of my practice is Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Herbalism.
